Description of Tour

Come experience a day in the city of Aarhus on June 3^rd, the day before the official opening of the conference.

The local JCI Aarhus chapters will be your personal guides and show how business and tourism go hand in hand with a walking tour of the city.

Pre-tour program:

• 10:00 - Meet up and check in at Aarhus train station before walking tour to first location
  
  
• 10:30 - Company visit at TRÆ. TRÆ is Denmark’s tallest wooden building made from recycled materials. Here we will hear the details of the construction and enjoy the view of Aarhus
  
  
• 11:45 - Walking tour to second location
  
  
• 12:15 - Lunch
  
  
• 13:00 - Visit at local company 
  
  
• 15:00 – Walk to the city centre and latin quarter. Here you can enjoy the cobblestone streets, Aarhus Cathedral or visit small local shops 
  
  
• 17:00 – Walk to Aarhus Ø, an Island where a local architect will provide insights of the design behind modern Danish urban architecture
  
  
• 19:00 – Dinner at local restaurant Vesterlauget where we will enjoy a traditional Danish dish (with a twist) complete with water view and the option of ice-cold drinks
  
  
• 20:30 – Networking and drinks at a bar close by (drinks not included in ticket price)
  
  
• 22:00 Pick up by bus from Aarhus Ø (Island) and transport to the conference city of Herning (drop off at Herning Messecenter)
  

Included in ticket: lunch, dinner, company visits, drinking water and some snacks during the day, bus transport from Aarhus to Herning when the day is done

Not included in ticket: Transport to Aarhus, drinks during lunch, dinner and at the final bar, entry or other fees to activities not mentioned in the program

Aarhus – the City of Smiles

Located just an hour away from the conference city of Herning, Aarhus is the second biggest city in Denmark and also one of the oldest. In 2017 Aarhus was the culture capital of Europe and whether you are into business, tourism or local cuisine, we’ve got you covered! 

Our day starts at the Aarhus Central station where we will meet up before we head out into the city on foot. You can arrive by train, bus or car and. If you arrive with your luggage, we will provide safe storage so you don’t need to carry it with you all day.

The day concludes with a bus ride to the conference headquarter hotel in Herning, so you can get settled in and be ready for the official opening the day after. 

This pretour is hosted by the two local chapters in Aarhus: JCI 8000 Aarhus and JCI Arosia. We can’t wait to share our great city with you and show you why Aarhus is a place for memories, culture, Danish “hygge”, business and excitement!
